Galia table lamp by Michael Red for Vistosi, C.1971

3.400

This exceptional lamp called Galia was designed in the early 1970s by Luciano Vistosi under the pseudonym Michael Red for Vetreria Vistosi. Using this pseudonym, Luciano Vistosi crafted glass lamps and objects characterized by their round and organic shapes.
Vistosi has been a significant manufacturer of glassworks since the early 20th century, based on the Italian island of Murano. This particular lamp features Murano glass and metal construction. It has a white glass base, topped by a chrome tube that supports the shade. Inside the chrome tube is an E27 socket that directs light upwards to the white glass at the top of the lamp, resulting in a calm and subtile light distribution.  The lamp’s shape resembles a mushroom. A rare find in excellent condition, with the original Vistosi and Murano stickers present on the base.
